Layered Learning, Layered Learners: The Multilayered Dimensions of English Learners

Let's challenge ourselves as educators to look at the layers of language and layers of learners through an asset-based approach. Everyday, we consider the multilayered dimensions of what make these students and their language needs unique: exceptional students, multilingual, immigration, refugees, trauma, anxiety, literacy skills in their primary language, and subject matter literacy.

The AZTESOL conference offers:

  • professional development for K-12 and adult English language educators
  • lively interactive sessions
  • cultural and global perspectives
  • advocacy opportunities
  • knowledge of current trends in the field
  • current issues affecting culturally and linguistically diverse populations
  • a professional network
